I love taking pictures at night. More often than not, they are quick photos taken on my Lumix with no tripod, sometimes from a moving vehicle. The following photos were taken over the last few years, at various points in my life. The challenge of overcoming the shakes and special exposure requirements, combined with getting a good shot, is one I take on happily. Especially in winter, during the Dark Ages.
Seven Dials, Covent Garden – A back lane that joins two of the seven streets that give the area its name.A Middle Eastern restaurant at Seven Dials that makes me think I’m stepping back in time.Taken during a taxi ride in London, I captured this brief moment of humanity just as we pulled away.Another shot from that taxi. I love the graphic nature of this one.Makes me think of ‘Les Mz’. “Do you hear the people sing?”Nothing like fireworks to celebrate!This intersection, for the moment peaceful and quiet, makes me feel as tho I’ve been transported back 500 years in time.“My lady’s face is nothing like the sun, ….” She peers at us from behind the velvet black curtain of night, slowly revealing her full beauty.
I'm a Canadian who loves our planet and the people living on it. I also love to travel and take pictures. I'd like to think I've improved a little, but am pretty sure there's room to be better.

Your photos made me miss my Lumix. I used to have one and I loved it because of the settings that are suitable for looong exposure. Sadly, the dial failed quickly from too much use.
I have a much better camera in many ways in my Fuji, but my Lumix can read my mind. I swear. And since I started programming the settings myself instead of using straight ‘auto’, it’s even better. The zoom is starting to get dodgy and bits of fuzz have been pulled onto the lens because of using the zoom, but I can still get a fairly good shot with it. I love this camera. LOL
