I was back within my comfort zone this week, as the challenge was to shoot a zoomed landscape. Because this is one of my favourite things to shoot, I have a rather large selection from which to choose the photo. With some thought and hair-tearing, I managed to pare that down to three.

The first, I took Saturday when I was smart enough to actually walk the dog when it was still sunny.

ISO 250, F5.6, 1/1000 and 16mm focal length - technically not zoomed on this lens.

Then I went for two walks on Sunday. By the time I walked the dog, the sun had disappeared, but the second time we went out, just to walk around the ponds, the sun had come back a little.

I love the gentle quality of the shot above; the buildings just hidden behind the trees. The one I’m using for the challenge this week, however is the next one.

So, this week’s challenge netted me a bunch of nice photos, several long walks with the dog and more for the challenge. The only limiting factor for me is that my new camera only has the one lens, so my zoom is quite short. But there are ways around that and I think I found them.

  1. Hi Kathy. I’m drooling looking at the beautiful blue sky, crooked fence and glorious daffodils. Still white, white, white here with rain today. Mom >
