I’ve discovered that I really enjoy my photography tours of the city, taking candid shots as I wander. There is such diversity — in architecture, in humanity, in experience.
One looks new in town, the other as if he has been here all his life.
At Jubilee Square – two friends share a moment.
Coming up to the bus stop, I am caught by this.
Traffic has been bad and the wait for the bus has grown long.
Mother and child having lunch, stroller momentarily abandoned.
As I came into the marketplace, she caught my eye. Watching the baby while everyone else shops.
She pauses at the flower stall during her lunch break to consider which one to add to her garden this week.
Over at Town Hall, I was momentarily distracted by flights of pigeons being fed and chased by a little boy.
These four clearly had just all been to the gym and were full of energy. Four of how many on the street that day at lunch.
Three of these might easily have been chosen for this week’s challenge; however, it was the pigeons that most captured me as I reverted to my high ISO technique. I probably could have gone up to ISO 650. With shutter speed of 1/500, I was just able to capture the birds at ISO 400. Next, I’ll try higher ISO and faster shutter speed.
Capturing candid shots on the streets of my city is fast becoming one of my favourite pass-times. This week`s challenge has gone a long way toward that.

I'm a Canadian who loves our planet and the people living on it. I also love to travel and take pictures. I'd like to think I've improved a little, but am pretty sure there's room to be better.
